Four Faces of Personalization

Education experts and reformers from across the political spectrum agree that personalization is a powerful strategy for accelerating student learning, and that technology has tremendous potential to support personalization. However, these experts and reformers also frequently disagree about what personalization actually means. In this interactive session, we'll explore four faces of personalization - four different ways that educators interpret "personalization" that have different, and sometimes incompatible, implications for student learning. By the end of this session, participants will understand a range of dimensions to personalization and will be better prepared to examine how personalized learning could impact their own classrooms and schools.
